After reacquiring the 50 hectares plantation from end of lease-contract to its lessee who developed and planted the area of high quality bananas on year 2000, the MJ Fruits Trading harvested banana fruits with the existing banana plants on the reacquired plantation.

The harvests then were marketed locally, investing just for moving conveyances.  The MJ Fruits Trading, now taking over the plantation, laid-out  a future plan - employing agriculturists to do researches and labor forces for plantation maintenance.

Opportunity to Venture on Export Business:

The demand of banana fruits abroad was high and banana importing countries, such as, Japan, China, the Middle East, and Korea are looking suppliers from the Philippines that can sustain for their market requirements.

The MJ Fruits Trading considered venturing into export business, immediately invited some individual small-scale banana growers surroundings and adjacent to MJ Fruits Trading- Banana Plantation; for a possible partnership in banana exporting business.  The partner growers to be formed as a cooperative, while MJ Fruits Trading will provide support for maintenance to the Growers’ cooperative, leaving to MJ Fruits Trading all the plantation’s development and production trading.

And in 2004, MJ Fruits Trading started to export high quality Cavendish Bananas, harvested from MJ Fruits Trading and Growers’ cooperative in a joint and fully developed 300 hectares banana plantation.

The packing area is located at the municipality of Sto.  Thomas Davao del Norte, Philippines.

Through consolidation with some reputable companies engaged in Cavendish Bananas exportation, to name: Unifruitti-Chiquitta Phils, Dole Phils, Sumifro Phils., Golden Interbridge Trading, and Rotto; we were able to supply a true export quality Cavendish Bananas to our buyers abroad.

At present, MJ Fruits Trading supplies to buyers abroad through Unifruitti-Chiquitta Phils; loading a minimum per buyer order of two (2) Forty Footers Container Van with 1,540 boxes/van of standard 13.5 kgs/boxes.

Business Expansion:

MJ Fruits Trading continued researches on banana development production to produce an exportable Cavendish Bananas.  As demand abroad of bananas continues to grow, new lands has been acquired and it started to produce high quality Cavendish Bananas.
